Major breakthrough for SAXoTECH in Norway
Norwegian media giant A-pressen signs group-wide editorial system agreement with SAXoTECH. SAXoPRESS editorial system approved for installation at the company's 48 newspapers.
SAXoTECH A/S has entered into a framework agreement with A-pressen AS, the largest newspaper group in Norway, which gives SAXoTECH the opportunity to provide newsroom software to the newspaper group's 48 publications.
"With this agreement, SAXoTECH will be one of two possible suppliers of editorial system solutions to A-pressen," said IT Manager Tom Lekang at A-pressen Avis og Trykk. "Together with our suppliers, we want to develop a strong technical platform for developing our editorial products."
Among other things, the framework agreement includes SAXoTECH's products for editorial planning and newspaper print production, as well as an archiving solution and integration to Internet publishing. The agreement also includes consulting in connection with implementation and training.
SAXoTECH estimates the value of the agreement to be worth several million DKK.
"Media Ost already has three newspapers using SAXoPRESS as the editorial production tool, and the company sees this framework agreement as a step on the way to an additional co-ordination of the group's digital tools for administration of content and production," said Assisting President at Media Ost, Ketil Haugland. "A-pressen has focused on organizing the editorial production flow. It is our opinion that the tools in SAXoTECH's portfolio, and the dialog we had with the company as to the future development, will considerably support our objectives for a new way of producing many of our newspapers."
"This agreement is a clear manifestation of SAXoTECH's position as the market-leading supplier of editorial systems in the Scandinavian domestic market," said Jesper Frank, Scandinavian sales manager for SAXoTECH A/S. "The deal with A-pressen means that SAXoTECH will be able to further expand our Norwegian operations."
"The framework agreement with A-pressen is an important milestone for SAXoTECH's activities in Norway," said Baard Mo, market manager in Norway for SAXoTECH A/S. "Measured in number of newspapers, the agreement gives us access to approximately 27 percent of the Norwegian newspaper market, and we see this as a solid acknowledgement - both of the company, and the products."
