St. Cloud Times selects SAXoPRESS
Gannett site to unify print and web, improve processes through SAXoPRESS / Publicus integration
TAMPA- SAXoTECH, a recognized leader in providing content management and online production systems for media companies, is pleased to announce that the St. Cloud Times (Minnesota) has selected the SAXoPRESS Publishing system after a lengthy search.
“We interviewed several vendors, and in the end, our unanimous choice was
Saxo, said Susan Ihne, executive editor of the St. Cloud Times. “We liked the design and organization of the system; it seemed simple to learn and easy to teach. We could envision efficiencies immediately.”
As part of the Gannett family, St. Cloud will benefit from the seamless integration between SAXoPRESS and Publicus (St. Cloud will be installing Publicus along with Gannett’s other daily publications).
“The conversion to SAXoPRESS offers us the opportunity to advance our processes and workflow, so we can move forward at a faster and more efficient pace, said Bill Albrecht, publisher of the St. Cloud Times. “Saxo's features like the photo booking module, planning module, integration with Publicus and the Tansa proofing system help us work more efficiently and improve our quality and pace. A pace that is necessary in our current business environment.”
“St. Cloud joins the ever-growing list of publishers that see the value of fully integrated print/web solution,” said Mark Prokosch, president of SAXoTECH, Inc. “SAXoPRESS will simplify, improve and unify St. Clouds output, whether it be in ink or online. SAXoPRESS and Publicus are exceptional stand-alone products, but the benefits are staggering when the two are married together to create a single publishing system, capable of disseminating content in any format.”
St. Cloud is replacing an aging, Quark based SII system with a mixed Windows/Mac SAXoPRESS 6 system using Adobe InDesign and Adobe InCopy.
“SAXoPRESS will allow us to easily transition our layout software from QuarkXpress to InDesign,” said Ihne.
