Ottaway Newspapers, Inc. signs contract for Publicus
TAMPA- SAXoTECH, a recognized leader in the development of cross-media publishing solutions, is pleased to announce that Ottaway Newspapers, Inc. has signed a long-term agreement to license the Publicus online publishing and content management solution for its newspaper Web sites.
Ottaway will use Publicus to standardize and centralize its Web site operations.
“First-rate technology is vital to creating quality Web sites,” said Andrew Langhoff, vice president of Internet development at Ottaway. “With Publicus, we believe we have found a solution that is suited for the kind of local content that we offer our communities.”
Ottaway joins a growing list of media companies worldwide that have chosen Publicus to help them automate their New Media publishing efforts, improve their Web users’ experience, as well as significantly expand their online revenue options.
Ottaway will begin the deployment of the Publicus system immediately.
“Publishing groups in particular have realized the vision and see the short and long-term benefits of the Publicus system,” said Mark Prokosch, president of SAXoTECH, Inc. “Adding Ottaway to a list of groups like Gannett, Orkla and the New York Times Regional Group reinforces our beliefs that Publicus best serves the needs of newspaper and other high volume web publishers.”
“We wanted to license a product which could serve as the foundation of our evolving Web platform – and Publicus has proven to be such a product,” said Ron Regan, Ottaway vice president of information services. “SAXoTECH is clearly ahead in meeting the needs of local operations like our own. We look forward to a long and rewarding relationship with the company.”
