Tampa, Fla. – December 5, 2005 –SAXOTECH, a leading software development and systems implementation company exclusively serving the publishing industry, today announced that The News & Observer, a McClatchy Company newspaper, has selected SAXOTECH Editorial for its new publishing solution.
With a daily circulation of 169,000, The News & Observer will implement a 180-seat SAXOTECH Editorial platform as well as an enterprise-wide deployment of Adobe CS2. To enhance the overall publishing process, The News & Observer is augmenting the base editorial system with add-on components including SAXOTECH's archiving system. The new Editorial system will replace The News & Observer's Quark system.

Layout tools allow designers and editors to create stories from the page as well as give reporters the ability to write-to-fit. Advanced template tools allow quick creation of entire pages or sections of pages.
“The News & Observer has a solid history of news reporting and award-winning journalism,” said Anders Christiansen, president and CEO, SAXOTECH. “We are pleased they have selected SAXOTECH Editorial and are confident they will have a tool that empowers better control of their production processes and improves communications within the newsroom.”
