Southeast Missourian Selects SAXOTECH for Complete Publishing Platform
Cape Girardeau’s daily paper will use SAXOTECH Online™ and SAXOTECH Editorial™ publishing solutions to improve workflow and provide fresh content for its Web site

Tampa, Fla. – September 29, 2006 – SAXOTECH, a leading software development and systems implementation company exclusively serving the media industry, today announced the Southeast Missourian, the flagship daily newspaper of the Rust Communications newspaper group, has selected SAXOTECH’s Editorial and Online solutions.

The initial agreement will include the daily Southeast Missourian and three community newspapers, all of which will run on a centralized SAXOTECH Editorial system, integrated with its hosted SAXOTECH Online system to drive high-performance Web products.

“We are excited about the integrated production model, multi-channel distribution and high-level reader interactivity provided by SAXOTECH,” said Jon K. Rust, publisher of the Southeast Missourian and co-president of Rust Communications. “This installation is the first phase of what we expect to be a cluster approach to integrated content management throughout our company.”

Switching to the SAXOTECH platform will enable Southeast Missourian reporters and editors to streamline workflow and increase efficiencies associated with the daily publication of a major newspaper.

The Southeast Missourian will join a growing list of newspapers that use SAXOTECH Online to help improve its online user experience, sell content online and improve content flow from its editorial system to the Web.

The Rust Group includes more than 45 newspapers across the United States. Its flagship Southeast Missourian was recognized in 2006 by the Suburban Newspapers of America with its Newspaper of The Year award. Other 2006 honors include First Place General Excellence by the Missouri Press Association and Best Website in its circulation class from the National Newspaper Association.
