Gorenjski glas Live on SAXOTECH Platform; Quickly Realizing Advantages of Modernized Newsroom

Aalborg, Denmark – September 3, 2012 – SAXOTECH, a leader in content management, circulation and advertising solutions, announced today the Slovene publisher, Gorenjski glas, is live on the SAXOTECH Managed Hosted Mediaware Center platform, with the implementation of SAXOTECH Online to follow at the end of this month.

Journalists who cover the Gorenjska region in Slovenia are now able to more easily manage articles, images and other content, optimizing workflow for the entire publishing process. More than 35 users will publish the regional newspaper twice a week with SAXOTECH's solution, with preparations under way for 22 thematic and local supplements through the SAXOTECH Mediaware Center.

Implemented with SAXOTECH Online, the complete platform will provide a robust multi-channel publishing workflow and content management system allowing news content to flow to print as well as any digital channel across its multiple editions. The media company will have the ability to enhance content creation throughout the entire organization while reducing the cost of ownership by having a single fully integrated publishing solution.

"SAXOTECH Mediaware Center is a giant leap for us into the world of hi-tech publishing," said Marija Volčjak, director of Gorenjski glas, d.o.o., Kranj company from Slovenia. "The editors and journalists now have better insight into the spatial limitations of content blocks through layout-driven elements and they can make corrections to text at any time during the production process. Technical editors have gained a better overview of what is being prepared for the current edition. The workspace is well organized and enables faster and more efficient production, which allows them to spend more time on preparing creative solutions."

Gorenjski glas has also taken advantage of cloud computing. SAXOTECH’s managed hosting in the SAXOTECH Cloud has enabled Gorenjski glas to provide its readers greater functionality and an improved user experience.  The Slovene media company has a complete managed platform, for 24/7 operation and the use of a full production system from anywhere and at any time.

"Seeing Gorenjski glas' newsroom evolution and being a part of its success is very exciting," said Jesper Frank, senior vice president of sales, SAXOTECH. "Editors and journalists have quickly modernized their work environment. With improved newsroom efficiencies, Gorenjski glas now has the ability to start thinking about new projects – which will provide additional revenue opportunities."
