Now their staff is beginning to see some quantifiable results of their implementation, specifically around Web products and their potential to better monetize content.

White Paper Published: Channel-Agnostic CMS Options for Media

Media companies are faced with tough decisions on how to respond to drastically changing business models. As publishing paradigms shift and content – once a singular and unique product of media companies – flows freely over many different types of channels, news and information publishers must carefully consider their approach to Enterprise Content Management.

Up until now media companies have been forced to choose between two options: build a system (typically using open source code) or purchase a commercial, purpose-built system. Now a third alternative is emerging: a flexible purpose-built system that enables the development of highly customizable applications and the sharing of code.

SAXOTECH has produced a white paper that discusses the pros and cons of the use of either open source technology or a purpose-built system by media companies and explore some of the key benefits of a “best of both worlds” flexible purpose-built system.
