Greenspun Media Group Drives Revenue, Increases Efficiencies with SAXOTECH Integrated Publishing Solution Print E-mail
More than 20 media entities to use SAXOTECH’s workflow management solutions to deliver content, on deadline, error-free and in as close to real-time as possible
Tampa, Fla. – February 6, 2007 – Greenspun Media Group (GMG), has selected SAXOTECH’s Online and Editorial solutions for its publishing needs, including the Las Vegas Sun, Las Vegas Weekly and more than 20 other media properties.

Readership trends, media consumption patterns and technology are driving convergence between the print and online media worlds. Deploying SAXOTECH’s integrated publishing solution will enable Greenspun to drive Web readers to print for in-depth reporting and print readers to the Web for added content and complementary material.

The SAXOTECH Online™ Web publishing platform, in combination with the SAXOTECH Editorial™ workflow and content management system, will provide GMG with a full-feature workflow production system able to effectively manage the planning, development, editing and production of the company’s print and online products.

“GMG was looking for a company that cared about its customers, that was Web/online-centric first and also very strong in their edit and archive abilities,” said Christina Wellendorf, director of production systems at GMG. “After several months of very deep research throughout the publishing industry, SAXOTECH ranked the highest in their ability to perform all the verticals: online, edit and archive better than the other competitors.”

With the tight integration of online and editorial, GMG will be positioned to quickly respond to these new readership trends by increasing the productivity of its editorial staff – extending content and online applications to enhance news publishing operations and further build the online community.

"GMG will use the SAXOTECH environment to redesign our current Internet site portfolio, and to develop entirely new sites in an aggressive plan this year," said Laurel Nelson-Rowe, GMG Internet Publishing vice president. "SAXOTECH will support the breadth of features and functions we plan for the new sites, for visitors and advertisers, and will provide consistent processes across our traditional print, custom products, and emerging Internet publishing enterprise."

GMG’s cohesive content delivery strategy will embrace multiple methods of news delivery, positioning the media company and its other publications as community portals where consumers can leverage content and access through multiple mediums.

The goal is to allow journalists to focus on journalism – planning, writing and editing – and to be able to apply those skills to every item that appears under the media organization’s brand, no matter the medium.
