Montreal-based Publisher Selects SAXOTECH Editorial as New Print Publishing Platform; Enhancing Existing SAXOTECH Online Deployment
Tampa, Fla. – Aug. 15, 2005 – SAXOTECH, a leading software development and systems implementations company exclusively serving the publishing industry, today announced Montreal-based Gesca – publisher of seven daily newspapers and one of Canada’s premiere news organizations – has selected SAXOTECH Editorial™ as the new print publishing platform for Montreal’s LaPresse.

Building on the foundation of their current investment in SAXOTECH Online™ (including the recently launched SAXOTECH Online Advertising Management System) to publish all of Gesca’s newspaper websites, LaPresse will implement a 156-seat SAXOTECH Editorial platform to replace an existing Harris editorial system. The switch to SAXOTECH Editorial will enhance collaboration between editors and reporters as well as streamline both the print publishing process and integration with their online sites. To further enhance the overall publishing process, LaPresse is augmenting the base editorial system with add-on components for image processing, ad integration, email and online integration.

“LaPresse is a respected customer and partner to SAXOTECH,” said Anders Christiansen, CEO and president, SAXOTECH, Inc. “We are excited by the opportunity to work with them on their switch to a new print publishing platform. The selection of SAXOTECH Editorial is the perfect complement to their investment in SAXOTECH Online and will be ideal for tightening integration and delivery of news to their readers across multiple mediums.”

In addition to their SAXOTECH Editorial system, LaPresse will deploy Adobe InCopy and InDesign to create a more collaborative editorial process and help speed production workflow. Tansa System 3 will be deployed as an enterprise solution for spelling, style and grammar. These third party software solutions will help to further streamline the publishing process.
