St. Cloud Times Goes Live with SAXOTECH Print E-mail
Gannett paper will unify web/print efforts through integration of SAXOTECH
The Times, a Gannett paper, went live with SAXOTECH Editorial 6.0, integrated with Adobe InDesign CS and InCopy CS.

"We're very happy with the system; the software is stable and very easy to learn," said Mike Knaak, Assistant Managing Editor of the St. Cloud Times. "Everything is in one place: stories, layouts, photos, photo assignments, news service stories and photos. The system also provides better editing tools, like Tansa, track changes, in-line-notes and versioning."

"We are pleased to welcome a Gannett paper into the SAXOTECH family," said Anders Christiansen, CEO of SAXOTECH, Inc. "We're looking forward to St. Cloud's SAXOTECH Online installation so they can benefit from a truly integrated system, capable of publishing not only in print, but anywhere."

St. Cloud went live using the SAXOTECH Editorial system in late January, and is anticipating an August role out of their new SAXOTECH Online-powered website. St. Cloud is installing the new online pubishing system as part of Gannett's system wide adoption of the SAXOTECH Online.

"Our system installation was smooth and uneventful, support was fast, efficient and thorough," said Knaak, who also commented on the time savings St. Cloud has been enjoying since installing SAXOTECH Editorial. "Having the photos and all the stories linked or grouped saves us time hunting for things. We have better control of our workflows, through access levels and categories, allowing better editing and tracking of stories."

Knaak added, "The formatting engine saves the copy desk time and produces a more consistent look, while the integrated writing and page layout saves us time updating stories on deadline."

The 44-seat Editorial system replaces St. Cloud's aging, Quark based editorial system from SII.
