The Telegraph becomes third newspaper in New Hampshire to choose SAXOTECH's Content Management System
SAXOTECH, a recognized leader in providing content management and online production systems for media companies, is pleased to announce that the The Telegraph (Nashua, N.H.), has purchased the Publicus Online Publishing System (Ed. note - currently called SAXOTECH Online) to produce its World Wide Web sites.

"Publicus will forever free my production staff from copying and pasting news stories into a Web-based template and allow us to focus on, and benefit from, the ever-emerging and innovative online methods of information gathering and publication," said Kathy Schwartz, New Media Manager at The Telegraph. "Moreover, the dynamic and automated advertising tools offer endless opportunity to increase sales and lead our local market in cutting-edge online marketing. We hope to make more money by maximizing the production efficiencies and leveraging the online advertising models offered by Publicus."

The Telegraph will use Publicus to publish the newspaper's local news Web site (www.nashuatelegraph.com), as well as its regional portal (www.nh.com).

The Telegraph is the third newspaper company in New Hampshire to select SAXOTECH's online content management solution - Concord Monitor (Concord, N.H.) and Foster's Daily Democrat (Dover, N.H.) also signed contracts to install Publicus within the last 12 months.
The New Hampshire dailies join a growing list of newspapers that have chosen Publicus to help it improve its online user experience, generate online revenue and improve content flow from their editorial systems to the Web.

The Telegraph's contract includes the Publicus Base System, as well as the following add-on components:

  • Classifieds Component: Automatically publishes a searchable online database of classified ad content from information gathered in the newspaper's classified front-end system
  • Email Newsletters: Automatically compiles and delivers headlines and links to email digest subscribers
  • Display Ad Inserts Module: Automates the process of moving and presenting print display advertising online
  • Registration Module: Captures registration information and provides a way to restrict access to content based on registration or subscriptions
  • Q&A Module: Allows newsroom editors to easily create and manage online polls, contests, and questionnaires

Publicus will be integrated with The Telegraph's editorial and classified front-end systems from Advanced Technical Solutions.

"We are proud to have a customer such as The Telegraph," said Mark Prokosch, President of SAXOTECH, Inc. "Their thorough research prior to making their selection validates what other newspapers have been saying about Publicus. That is, there really is no other system like it on the market today."

The contract includes training, consulting services, support and software maintenance. SAXOTECH will host and manage The Telegraph's Publicus Web sites at the company's datacenter in northern Virginia.

The implementation process will begin immediately. The Telegraph Web sites are expected to go live with Publicus in January 2004.
