- SAXoTECH A/S has just announced the sale of SAXoPRESS Publishing System
for yet another Norwegian newspaper, namely the Drammens Tidende.
Drammens Tidende is a daily newspaper with a circulation of
appr. 45.000. Drammens Tidende is owned by Orkla Media A/S, and the newspaper is
consequently part of one of Norways three major newspaper groups.
The contract, which was made by SAXoTECHs Norwegian
distributor Luth Grafisk AS, includes a complete editorial system for 64 users.
The new system at Drammens Tidende is a database solution
with writers and editors on PC and pagination on Mac.
SAXoPRESS enables Drammens Tidende to produce their news on
an ultra-modern publishing system, meeting all the needs of the newspaper.
Together with the SAXoPRESS modules for producing editorial
copy Drammens Tidende also purchased SAXoPRESS ImageProcessor Pro - a highly automatised
processor of images. For Internet Publishing Drammens Tidende chose NetNEWS, and SAXoBRS
system for archiving text, images, and pages. In addition Drammens Tidende purchased
SAXoPLAN - a planning tool for the editor comprising a calendar and an overview of stories
for tomorrows newspaper.
The system at Drammens is expected to be running in
SAXoTECH A/S, headquartered in Aalborg, Denmark, is leading
on the Scandinavian market when it comes to integrated PrePress solutions for newspapers
and is making strong inroads into other European markets with distributors in Benelux and
In addition, at the turn of the year SAXoTECH A/S has
established a subsidiary company in the United States to sell and support SAXoPRESS,
SAXoTECH's editorial system. The American subsidiary is located in Bethesda, Maryland,
just outside Washington, D.C.
