Helsingborg Dagblad chooses SAXoPRESS
for 105 editorial users
Aalborg March, 14, 2000 - the leading Scandinavian company within editorial software to the media industry, SAXoTECH A/S, informs that the company has entered into contract with the Swedish newspaper Helsingborg Dagblad concerning delivery of a complete SAXoPRESS installation.
"For Helsingborgs Dagblad it is important to invest in an editorial system, already developed far ahead what multi-publication concerns. Our newspaper is far ahead when it comes to Internet publication, WAP-news and daily news modification in radio. Of course we want to be able to use the same system solution for all these companies. That is the reason why we chose SAXoPRESS after nearly two years studies of editorial system solutions", Eskil Jönsson says, Managing Editor, Helsingborg Dagblad.
He continues " the SAXoPRESS solution gives Helsingborgs Dagblad the possibility to adapt its resources and the editorial organization to the new demands, which already are set within the competitive daily press and are set more and more in the next years."
The contract is for a total system solution for 105 editorial users.
In its basic structure the system will be built so it supports the requirements of the newspaper to base its production on layout-driven principles.
System technical, Helsingborg Dagblad should have a database solution based on an Oracle 8.0.5 database with client-software running on Apple Macintosh workstations.
In addition to the SAXoPRESS modules to production of the editorial copy, the newspaper also gets the NetNews system for publication of the daily Internet newspaper and the SAXoBRS Archive solution for archiving and searching on text, images and pages.
Furthermore, the newspaper has also bought the planning tool SAXoPLAN, handling all practical way of presenting the problems within editorial planning and resource allocation.

The new solution at Helsingborg Dagblad is expected to be in operation by the end of 2 quarter 2000.
Information about Helsingborg Dagblad Helsingborg Dagblad founded in 1867 is a Swedish daily paper with a daily number of circulation of 50,200 and 51,700 on Sundays. Besides the printed newspaper Helsingborg Dagblad publishes an Internet Newspaper, a Tal-Tidning (for weak-sighted) and as the newest project the newspaper delivers local news via a radio station.
