SIGNS LETTER OF INTENT
TO PURCHASE PUBLICUS

      SAN FRANCISCO -- SAXoTECH announced that its software has been selected by The Blade, of Toledo, Ohio, to power the new version of its World Wide Website, toledoblade.com.

      The Blade has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to purchase the Publicus Online Publishing System to help them with the daily production of the newspaper's various Web properties. SAXoTECH will make the announcement at NEXPO 2000, the Newspaper Association of America's annual exposition and conference, being held here this weekend.

      The Blade will be the first North American customer to use Publicus. They
      join a growing list of Scandinavian media companies that use the system to
      publish online every day.

    THE BLADE SIGNS LETTER OF INTENT TO PURCHASE PUBLICUS

    SAN FRANCISCO -- SAXoTECH announced that its software has been selected by
    The Blade, of Toledo, Ohio, to power the new version of its World Wide Web
    site, toledoblade.com.

    The Blade has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to purchase the Publicus
    Online Publishing System to help them with the daily production of the
    newspaper's various Web properties. SAXoTECH will make the announcement at

    The Blade is the major daily metro newspaper in Toledo, Ohio, and is one of
    the oldest newspapers in the United States. With 254,000 readers daily,
    345,000 readers on Sunday, and over 100,000 unique online users per month,
    The Blade is the leading provider of news, information and advertising in
    northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. The Blade is owned by Blade
    Communications, Inc. (BCI), which is headquartered in Toledo. BCI is made up
    of 15 companies nationwide, some of which include print, broadcast and
    telecommunications.

    The Publicus system will be integrated with The Blade's existing ATS
    NewsDesk editorial system, as well as their CText AdVision advertising
    system. Publicus will replace The Blade's four-year-old Pantheon Web
    production system. The Blade is expected to go live with their new
    Publicus-enabled Web site sometime this fall.

    A COMPLETE SYSTEM

    The Blade is expected to purchase the following Publicus components:

    -- Base Publicus System: Will improve The Blade's online news publishing
    workflow by automating a great deal of the daily production and eliminating
    all the image processing.

    AGENDA MODULE:
    Will allow visitors to The Blade's Web site to submit
    community calendar information to the paper both print and online
    publication. Editors will approve all materials for the Web, and the data
    required for the print publication will be sent to the editorial system for
    pagination.

    CLASSIFIEDS MODULE:
    Will let The Blade significantly improve their online
    classified advertising sections by giving users the ability to search for
    any type of ad with many different search criteria.

    MULTI-CHANNEL MODULE:
    Will allow The Blade to quickly re-publish content
    in many different electronic formats, including different Web browsers,
    handheld computers (like the PalmV(tm)), WebTV(tm), e-mail subscribers,
    wireless phones, etc.

    COMMUNITY PUBLISHING MODULE:
    Will let The Blade give groups and
    organizations in the Toledo area the ability to easily publish their own
    stories and photos on its Web site (without having to learn any HTML
    coding).

    E-COMMERCE MODULE:
    Will allow The Blade to build an online shopping mall
    of local merchants and allow them to use their Web site to sell goods and
    services to readers.

    MULTI-MEDIA MODULE:
    Will give The Blade the ability to publish streaming
    video and audio on their site.
