|NetNews XTra is the production tool for publishing Internet-newspapers in SAXoPRESS.
With the NetNews module it is possible to make World Wide Web pages for the Internet in less than half an hour - and it couldn't be easier!
Articles already written in SAXoPRESS/SAXoTEXT can be published on the Internet.
In the Articles module you select these articles and prepare them for the Internet. This can be done by more than one editor/subeditor. The copied articles can be edited.
From the NetNews module you can view the prepared articles by selecting a category or subcategory to view. The names of categories and subcategories are fully configurable but by default the categories use the same names as in the Articles module. In the NetNews module you can change the display order of the articles and you can make links from the frontpage to any article.
The articles may have images attached from the Articles module and these can be used or you can attach other images to show on the WWW pages.
The images you use may be specially tailored for the Internet or you can have the SAXoImageProcessor with PhotoRace scale the images used in the printed edition of the newspaper to a size more suitable for the Internet.
Placing ads along with an article or an index of articles is a matter of selecting the article or index, the placement, and the ad. The ads can be anything possible on a WWW page including text, graphics, sounds, movies, etc.
The layout of the Web pages is controlled by templates. When the editors are done editing their categories they create their WWW pages by clicking a button and the pages are then sent to the Web server.
Your WWW newspaper has hit the Internet!
Selected articles can be organized in categories and subcategories. Ads can be linked to any article or index.
