SAXoEngine is the very core of the SAXoPRESS system. SAXoBASIS will log itself on to SAXoEngine during system log-on.
SAXoEngine contains all information about and definitions of users and their relationship to usergroups.
SAXoEngine contains all factual information about server and database structures, i.e. the placement and structure of newspaper elements, stories, wirecopy, etc.
The stylebook of the individual newspaper product is also defined in SAXoEngine.
When implementing SAXoPRESS SAXoTECH will assist you in creating the first SAXoEngine with SAXoAdmin Pro and will further assist you in the creation of appropriate production structures to the various kinds of data, placed on different servers and in the produc-tion database.
SAXoEngine is implemented in a "SAXoPRESS Product". This SAXoPRESS Product, which is specific to the individual newspaper, contains all the data re-quired by SAXoPRESS. The "Product" is thus the engine of the entire system.
SAXoTECH has developed SAXoEngine for various Danish newspapers, and has gained much experience in constructing functional production structures - an experience that helps to avoid unpleasant and costly mistakes.
SAXoAdmin contains all facilities to create new users and groups. Furthermore, the systems administrator can edit the setup of existing users. Each user links to one or more groups. These links form the basis of which privileges the user is granted.
Simultaneously a user "mail address" is created, which enables the built-in SAXoPRESS message system to send messages to the user.
The individual user's access to the various modules in the SAXoPRESS system is controlled from SAXoEngine.
